Josephine Programs & Activities Overview
Josephine provides a wide variety of Programs,
Activities, and Outings for it's residents.
Creativity Center
The Creativity and Imagination Center is a place for residents, children, staff, volunteers, and visitors to enjoy creativity, exploration and social interaction. Residents have the opportunity to improve daily living skills, enjoy continuing education and have reminiscing experiences. It encourages dignity, encouragement, beauty, sensory exploration and repetition.
Daily Activities
The Programs Activity staff assists the residents
with a wide variety of daily activities.
Bus Outings
The Josephine fleet of vehicles provide safe, comfortable and reliable transportation for our residents. But the buses and vans are more than transportation – they provide a connection to the extended community – a pivotal service for our residents. When residents enter long term care environments, isolation and dependency can lead to a sense of loss and depression. It is vital to help them stay connected with their larger community. The Bus Outings represent freedom, independence and enjoyment for our residents.
Family Nights
Josephine has a long tradition of family gatherings. Several times a year, family members are invited to join their Josephine resident for a delicious dinner and entertainment. These Family Nights usually coincide with holiday celebrations such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, October Fest, St. Patrick's Day, etc.
Entertainment
Josephine provides a wide variety of entertainment for
it's residents. The monthly activities include "love on a leash" whereby
members of the community bring pets to visit the residents in their rooms,
minstrels strolling through the halls, musicians at the 3:00pm Social Hour,
volunteers who entertain during the holidays, ice cream socials,
professional entertainers at Family Night, etc.
Monthly Calendar
Josephine publishes a monthly calendar of Special Events, Outings, and Social Hours. The Monthly Activity Calendar contains a variety of events ranging from religious services, bus outings, entertainment at the daily 3:00PM Social Hour, entertainment from volunteer musicians, special celebrations, and holiday events. The calendar is published in the Sunshine Times newsletter
