Skilled Nursing Care
Resident-centered care means quality of life
Josephine’s
skilled nursing program provides a broad range of care services for those who
are very frail, or who have dementia, or who cannot take care of themselves
because of physical, emotional, or mental problems. Often, the needs of these
individuals can no longer be met by family, friends, and other community
resources. Josephine stands ready to provide the programs and services these
individuals need in an environment of warmth, dignity and respect. The goal?
Providing the highest quality of life possible.
Foremost to fostering a high
quality of life is Josephine’s emphasis on resident-centered care. Our
caregivers place supreme value on listening and knowing a resident’s
backgrounds and her or her personal preferences, and work closely with residents
and their families to ensure that resident choices are respected.
None of this would be
possible without our by highly-trained RNs, LPNs, and certified nursing
assistants. To encourage personal and professional growth, Josephine holds
regular in-house training programs and supports employee continuing education
through our popular scholarship program. These efforts, along with Josephine’s
commitment to employer-funded health insurance and employer-matched retirement
contributions, mean that we have a skilled and dedicated staff and an excellent
retention rate – one of the best in long term care.
Our caregivers integrate a
wide variety of standard and complementary therapies to bring our residents to a
better state of health. Daily exercise classes give residents greater vitality,
improving balance, flexibility and overall fitness. Many find the integration of
therapies like massage, yoga, therapeutic touch and progressive relaxation
helpful in reducing pain and stress.
Josephine believes that even
with chronic illness, residents can find growth and fulfillment. The focus of
our activities program is to create as many opportunities as possible for that
to happen. Our activities range from a quiet visit from a volunteer or chaplain
to music concerts, dining out, and even overnight camping trips. Residents are
also invited to take part in intergenerational activities with the children in
our childcare program.
We’re proud of what we do
here and love to give tours. Call us to schedule a tour and a complementary
meal.
